Television History Education Project

The WGA East Foundation's American Television Writers: Creating the Canon program is an exciting new resource for aspiring writers and educators.

Produced in conjunction with the Rowan University Foundation and the King Family Foundation, this series will highlight the careers of renowned television writers. "Episodes" are compilations of materials that provide overviews of the highlighted writer's oeuvre. The centerpiece of every episode will be a filmed interview with the writer conducted by television critic David Bianculli and by the chair of Rowan’s Radio/TV/Film Department, Michael Donovan. Supplementary materials will include clips from relevant television shows, scripts, and study guides.

The first program will examine the work of Tom Fontana.

Episodes of the series will be provided online at no cost to educational institutions. For further information, please contact wgaefoundation@wageast.org.
