Susanna Styron

Susanna Styron is a screenwriter, director and documentary film-maker. Her writing credits include the feature film Shadrach, which she also directed, In From the Night and Back When we were Grown-Ups for Hallmark Hall of Fame, and Crossing the Line and Taking Back Our Town for Lifetime. She has written and directed for the television series 100 Centre Street created by Sidney Lumet. Her most recent documentary 9/12: From Chaos to Community examines the relationships formed between volunteers and recovery workers at Ground Zero.

Susanna serves on the Advisory Board of The Unusual Suspects, an organization devoted to bringing theater workshops to at risk youth in Los Angeles. She has published articles in The New York Times, the Yale Revue, and Spin Magazine. She holds a BA from Yale University and an MFA from the American Film Institute. Susanna teaches directing at Columbia University in the MFA film program, and screenwriting in the MFA film program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
