The Mentor Group/Scenarios USA

The Mentor Group is a program of the WGAE Foundation, which has partnered with Scenarios USA for its inaugural effort.

The Writers Guild of America, East Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization which was created to perpetuate the art and craft of storytelling, either by professionals or amateurs, through education and practical experience, on local, national and global levels.

Scenarios USA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that uses writing and filmmaking to foster youth leadership, advocacy and self-expression in under-served teens.

The WGAE Foundation Mentor Group worked with Scenarios USA alumni who live in NYC and have demonstrated a commitment to writing and an interest in becoming professional screenwriters. The goal of the program is to give participants the professional tools, expertise and exposure to help them in their writing careers.

On Thursday, November the 11th the Writers Guild of America, East Foundation and Scenarios USA came together to celebrate the works of five young writers chosen for The Mentor Program. Jointly executed by the WGAE Foundation and Scenarios USA, talented youths from under-served communities were chosen to develop their original screenplays under the tutelage of an experienced WGAE writer. Rodney Stringfellow chaired the programs on behalf of the WGAE Foundaiton.
