News on the Fellowship

11.14.09 | Barry Levinson, David Simon, Tom Fontana, Julie Martin, David Bianculli, Michael Winship and Marsha Manns launched the Baltimore Sun Fellowship at Saint Ignatius Hall on North Calvent Street In Baltimore.

About “Telling Our Stories”

The WGAE Foundation and the Washington Baltimore Newspaper Guild (WBNG) have joined forces to assist staff members of the Baltimore Sun who have been affected by recent cutbacks. The two organizations are providing multiple fellowships to employees following this difficult year in newspaper industry layoffs.

The Baltimore Sun Fellows have been asked to contribute stories to a collective fellowship website project titled “Telling our Stories: The Days of The Baltimore Sun,” which is currently under construction. Contributions have been accepted from all forms of storytelling -- essays, short stories, poems, blogs, photo essays and illustrations -- and told of the Fellow’s personal experiences during their time at The Baltimore Sun. Contributions to the project are also welcome in editorial, clerical, and graphic design capacities.

Established by a grant from an anonymous donor, the WGAE Foundation/WBNG Fellows include Steve Auerweck, Paul Bendel-Simso, Danielle R. Bradley, Phyllis K. Brill, Joseph DeCarlo, Tyeesha L. Dixon, Doug Donovan, Deborah Dramby, Ray Frager, Patrick Gutierrez, Ebony L. Harvey, Chiquita Heath, Beth Hughes, Felicia Hung, Douglas S. Kapustin, Chiaki Kawajiri, Jiho Kim, Fay H. Lande, Linda L.
